The Smith Family Comic Strip: Growing up, I was captivated by my grandparents’ vibrant cartoons, which filled their home with humor and charm. I’d spend hours flipping through their sketchbooks, tracing the lines of their drawings and feeling a deep connection to our family’s creative roots. Their art wasn’t just ours—it touched the community too, lighting up local exhibitions and events with its playful spirit. But as years passed, I saw the pages yellow, the edges fray, and the colors fade. The fear of losing these treasures hit hard.I couldn’t let them disappear. This wasn’t just about saving sketches; it was about honoring two remarkable people whose passion for cartooning sparked joy in our family and beyond. I pictured my kids and grandkids one day laughing at these same gags, feeling the warmth of their great-grandparents’ imagination. So, I set out to digitize it all—building an archive to keep their work alive and shareable with a click.This project is my tribute to their boundless creativity and the legacy they left in our family and community. Their cartoons will keep inspiring, bringing smiles for generations to come.
